On 02.06.2026 at about 00:40 hrs, acting on source information, a police team from Golapganj IC under Kaliachak Police Station intercepted a motorcycle at Sardaha More and successfully apprehended the following persons:

1. Indrajit Mandal @ Jatta (20), S/o Bijay Mandal, resident of Akondabaria.

2. Kartik Mandal (21), S/o Uttam Mandal, resident of Sahilapur.

Both are under PS Kaliachak, District Malda.

During the search, the police recovered and seized 07 firearms, 455 grams of brown sugar, and the motorcycle used by the accused. Subsequently, both accused persons were arrested.

Similarly, on the night of 01.06.2026, acting on credible source information, a police team from Mothabari Police Station conducted a raid at Achintola Stand and apprehended two persons who were riding a motorcycle:

1. Nibhu Mandal (47), S/o Chhakku Mandal

2. Manoj Mandal (39), S/o Late Khoka Mandal

Both are residents of Village Mangatpur (Hamidpur Char), PO-Jugoltola, PS-Mothabari, District Malda.

During search, the police recovered and seized one firearm and two live ammunitions from their possession.

A specific case has been registered at the respective Police Station under the relevant sections of law. The accused persons have been remanded to police custody for further investigation.
