The right to information Act has already been proved to be the one of the most important contribution of the legislature to its citizen. It is mandatory for all the Government Department to provide information related with their set up to the citizen selling information. As per said law, SPIO of each Department / Office is responsible for providing information as per application.

As per Government Notification, Dy. SP (HQ) has been nominated as SPIO for providing information related to Malda District Police RTI Act, and a cell has been formed to assist him in this respect. The cell in maintaining records regarding all application under RTI Act and status of information to be provided.

Addl. SP, Malda is the Appellate Authority in this respect for the Malda District Police.
