Established in the year 1904 this is predominantly infested with population who are dependent on agriculture and cattle farming. Around 60% of the population belongs to the category of SC/ST. this PS is having the longest international border (82.5 KM) of Malda district with Bangladesh and 21 BOPs of BSF maintains surveillance in tandem with local police administration.
